On March 20, 2025, Chomps announced a voluntary internal recall involving selected lots of Original Beef Sticks and Original Turkey Sticks produced at one manufacturing facility. The decision was made in cooperation with the company’s third-party production partner and under the supervision of the USDA after the possible presence of metal fragments was identified in certain products. The recall was initiated as a precautionary action designed to protect consumers and maintain product safety standards.

The investigation began after two customer reports suggested that metal fragments may have been present in some meat stick products. Customers who purchased the affected items are encouraged to review the lot codes printed near the barcode area at the bottom of each meat stick package. For multi-pack pouches, consumers may need to remove an individual stick to locate the code.

The recall applies to selected lots of 1.15-ounce Original Beef products, including single sticks as well as 8-count and 12-count pouch packages. Certain Original Turkey single-stick products are also included. Consumers who discover that they possess products from the recalled lots are advised not to consume them. Instead, they should return the products to the retailer where they were originally purchased in order to receive a refund. Customers unable to return products to the retailer are encouraged to contact the company directly for additional assistance and support options.
